Pc HDMI connection to HD TV (32'', 720p vizio)? - hdmi extension

PC graphics card has HDMI, DVI and VGA. I bought an HDMI cable and connect your PC available on television. The signal is not the case. Is there something that connects me or the program may be necessary to restart the TV as a monitor or a second or an extension of my first time?
